5. PROTECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION.

IWMF follows generally accepted security practices and procedures to protect the Personally Identifiable Information you provide from unauthorized access, use and disclosure. We require our authorized service providers to implement and maintain such security practices and procedures as well. Nevertheless, be aware that Internet transmissions are never completely private or secure.

Reporta includes the following features to safeguard your data:

  • Robust, multiple character passwords;
  • Automatic locking of the app when an SOS message is sent or a Check-in is missed; and
  • All information regarding a Check-in encrypted and sent to a secure server and not stored on your Mobile Device.

6. RETENTION OF YOUR PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION.

One of IWMF’s core principles in the development of Reporta is to minimize the information we retain. The Personally Identifiable Information you provide will be stored and maintained by IWMF for as long as we believe it is necessary or appropriate to (a) carry out the purpose(s) for which such information was collected, or (b) to comply with applicable laws, contracts or other rules or regulations.

We safeguard your data in several ways:

  • On Reporta’s Database Servers

- Reporta uses highly secure, redundant, dedicated servers. Reporta’s servers are dedicated exclusively to Reporta and not shared with any other organization, app or service provider.

- All Personally Identifiable Information associated with a Check-in will be deleted from the IWMF database 30 days after the Check-in’s expiration time.

- All contact data in your Contact Circles will be deleted from Reporta's database if you have not accessed or used Reporta for 12 months.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting

- Summarized, non-Personally Identifiable Information from Reporta may be retained and analyzed by the IWMF to help advise journalists and media organizations about incidents reported.

- Data received will be disaggregated by gender, type of employment and other variables (location, category of incident, etc.).

- IWMF will make all analyses and reports available to Reporta users on the IWMF website: www.iwmf.org .

7. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY.

Reporta is intended for adults. Accordingly, we do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.

8. REVISIONS TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY.

IWMF may modify this Privacy Policy at any time and without prior notice to you. Modifications will be effective on the date that appears on the modified Policy.
