The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) designed Reporta to empower journalists working in potentially dangerous conditions to quickly implement their security protocols with the touch of a button. The free app is available on iPhone and Android devices in Arabic, English, French, Hebrew, Spanish, and Turkish
Since the initial launch of Reporta, we’ve been working to update the code for the iOS and Android apps as well as the application server to reflect all the suggestions that were provided to us.
With this week’s official launch of Reporta, a personal safety app designed for journalists working in potentially hazardous environments, we are proud to announce it will soon also be an open-source application.
Additional support was provided by Al-Monitor, Inter-American Development Bank, and Facebook.
IWMF wishes to thank the following organizations for their contributions to Reporta:
ABC News I Frontline Freelance Registry I Global Journalist Security I Global Press Institute
The GroundTruth Project I International Center for Journalists I Periodistas a Pie

Special thanks to the dedicated journalists and individuals who tested Reporta.
